Stop the presses the Sox acquire INF Mike Aviles from Royal

The Red Sox have acquired infielder Mike Aviles from the Royals in exchange for infielder Yamaico Navarro and right-hander Kendal Volz, the Royals announced (via twitter).
Aviles is hitting .222 with a .261 OBP, .395 slugging mark, .656 OPS and five homers in 53 games this year. He adds a baserunning element to the Sox, having swiped 10 bases in 12 attempts this year. Aviles was also delivering solid production against lefties, hitting .309/.344/.600/.944 with two homers in 62 plate appearances.

This must be the first move towards a bigger trade for the BoSox. Aviles is having a awful offensive year but he has hit in the past and will be a great backup for the team and can contribute as a decent replacement if anything happens to Marco and or Jed whenever he comes.

Crazy Legs McGee taking you into the Weekend......Lowell Folk Fest

Lowell at its finest!

Erik Bedard to the Sox is coming more of a reality

BOSTON -- With Boston Red Sox concerns mounting over pitcher Clay Buchholz, despite manager Terry Francona's statements to the contrary, the team's search for pitching help has expanded to include a left-hander who hasn't pitched in a month because of a sprained left knee. And given what the Colorado Rockies want for right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, Seattle left-hander Erik Bedard may be the most likely candidate, according to a major league source familiar with talks between the Mariners and Red Sox.Bedard is scheduled to pitch Friday night in Seattle against the Tampa Bay Rays, his first start since June 27, when he went seven innings against the Atlanta Braves, allowing four hits and three runs. The next day, Bedard went on the disabled list because of his injured knee.
Erik Bedard is a pretty darn good pitcher when healthy but HEALTH is always the question with him and I just hope the Sox don't have to give too much for him to make him apart of the this team for the home stretch.

Seeing Ochocinco in Patriots Camp is unreal

Horrible Call to end Pirates Braves Game.......Get Glasses Ump

After 19 innings how the hell can you call that play safe. Julio Lugo was out by a mile. Has to be second worse call in recent memory second to the blown first base play to ruin Armando Gallaraga's perfect game.

Who knew Kevin Durant loved getting inked

I guess Kevin Durant loves the ink especially on his tummy. I don't understand why he has them there where no one can see them unless he takes his shirt off. Kevin do you really have a Washington Nationals symbol. I can see you're from the DC area but you had to get the team logo as your representation of the area. You could have gotten your area code to show respect.

Times up for JD Drew

As a fan of the Boston Red Sox, I can't help but cringe every time J.D. Drew(notes) is up at bat. With a .222 batting average, it's hard for the aging vet to look like anything other than the odd man out in the Red Sox lineup. Things might be different if he was just having a bad stretch or in the midst of a slump, but as Drew approaches the end of a 5-year contract, it's clear that he has nothing left to contribute. The real problem isn't that Drew went 0-for-3 in Sunday night's ridiculously long slog against the Tampa Bay Rays, it's that he's still in the lineup.Sure, Drew managed to get a big double on Saturday in Game 2 (July 16), but in case you forgot after those 16 excruciating innings the next day, it was the only hit he had in 5 at-bats. As Red Sox fans know, his recent performances are no fluke. Drew has seen plenty of action this season, with 230 at-bats so far. Nevertheless, his slugging percentage stands at a gruesome .309. YAHOO.com

Its about time this waste of money is finally going to be gone once we get trade for someone who can hit a double atleast(Carlos Beltran, Hunter Pence, Ryan Ludwick, Surprise?) or get someone who can platoon with Josh Reddick. 15 million a year for 15-20 homers and never hitting more than 68RBI's and this year can barely hit a single. Say Hi to Mike Cameron for me.

If you're going out why not hire a Pro Wing Woman

How did I never hear of this company before and it has been around since September. When I was on my way to work this morning I was tuning into Matty In the Morning on Kiss and they had a guest on who is a professional wing woman in Boston. This is legit too they have a actual website and everything. To be totally honest if you need to hire a professional wing woman to help score a girl you're hopeless in the world. I give this woman credit she is making bank probably from how she was talking this morning.

This is why she said to hire them on the show and on their site:

  • Women are more likely to respond positively to a woman starting up a conversation with them than a man.  We can associate better with the same sex, and will not give the appearance of "hitting on" a woman of interest.
  • We will take the awkwardness out of figuring out what to say to a woman in whom you are interested.

  • Instead of using a dating site, where one tries to judge what a person is really like from pictures and profiles, our clients see their prospective partners in person, a major benefit when meeting for the first time as well.
  • Our WingWomen are attractive, confident, relaxed, and sociable. When you are out in a public area with one of these women, you convey the message that this is the company you keep.  Through your interaction with the WingWoman and her interaction with a lady of your interest, the social boundaries break down and this makes a smooth transition to meeting someone.
  • Men look that much more desirable when they are seen with an attractive lady by their side.
  • By hiring a Boston WingWoman, you are greatly increasing your chances to meet a lady of interest!

NFL games are about to get longer and more replay-filled

A new rule goes into effect this year stating that every scoring play that happens in the course of an NFL game will be automatically reviewed by the replay official. Here's an explanation of that process from Mike Pereira at FOXSports.com:
If an official rules a score (touchdown, field goal, safety or extra point) during a game, the replay official will automatically review the play. If there is any question as to whether the ruling is correct, they will buzz down to the referee and ask him to come to the monitor to review the play. If the replay official confirms the ruling is correct, they will buzz the referee indicating he is clear to let the scoring team attempt the extra point, or kick off if the scoring play was a field goal, safety or extra-point attempt. A coach will not be allowed to challenge the ruling of a score. The intent is to save the coach from having to challenge the ruling of a score and, thus, increase his chances of not running out of challenges or timeouts.
Overkill.
Oh Great now NFL gmaes are going to take like  5 hrs to finish especially with teams with high scoring offenses. The NFL games take too long to begin with especially with the penalties and replays they already call every second. I love football but this is in 2 years there won't even be refs on the field it be all computer based calling every call and what not. The human aspects of sports is what makes them great not replays that will determine a TD that was clearing good.

Could this be the newest member of the Boston Red Sox?

Rumor has it that Red Sox are considering adding the dynamic Jose Reyes to the Sox already potent lineup. I would love to see this happen but the Sox would definitely need to resign him to make this trade worth it. This trade would basically give up any hope of Jose Inglesis being the future SS of the Sox since he would be part of any trade involving Reyes. Whenever you can get this type of SS in a trade you make it happen.

Brian Wilson is my Idol

That's all I can say Fear the Beard.

AL East dominates Home Run Derby

It was no contest it was basically the AL East vs the rest of the National league and they destroyed the NL. Who would have thought Cano would be hitting bombs left and right and end up beating the defending champ Big Papi and then somehow overcoming a 11 home run outburst by AGone in the finals to take the crown.

Oh by the way Yankees you might have the Home Derby champ in Cano and Derek Jeter just got 3000 hits but don't forget who is in 1st place. That's what I thought.

Rockies Catching prospect Jordan Pacheco hits Home Run with Broken Bat

This kid absolutely crushed the ball to straight away center field 410ft. If no one knew of this kid they do now. Not many major leaguers can say they hit a broken bat home run with that distance and how much it broke.

Papi wanted to destroy Kevin Gregg so bad

I wish Papi's uppercut knocked the shit out of Kevin Gregg so bad. Hey Kevin last time I checked your team is in last place don't try to tell us your not scared of the Red Sox.

When did Jose Canseco play for the Expo's? ESPN Huh

I was just searching stuff and this photo of Jose Canseco player info was in a Montreal Expo hat on ESPN. Canseco never played an inning for that team ever. I know Canseco was a disgrace to baseball but really ESPN you had to put him in a Expo's hat. You could have just put no team logo at all.

Mariners Kid Fan Absolutely Destroying The Thriller Dance

This kid has got the swag just like the Video Recorder was saying. If the 8 year girls weren't drooling over him they are now. This kid just killed it and I don't say that lightly he absolutely said damn all you MJ wannabes I'm the fucking best at doing MJ.

Lackey is a Bum

What should the Sox do with this Bum?
  1. Put him in the Bullpen.
  2. DL him for long period of time(Basically sit for the rest of year)
  3. Make him get TJ surgery since he needs it by all reports.
  4. Gut it through with what he is giving us.
Whatever the Sox do it better be quick this guy is sucking left and right. I don't know what Theo ever saw in this guy he was not a dominating pitcher ever. He was good in the playoffs but it was not like he was over powering batters.

PS: Lester is probably going to be out two weeks with Lat Strain just what this team needs now another injury.

I guess LeBron doesn't take losing to knockout easily

Maybe if LeBron showed that intensity on the court in the NBA instead of kids bball camp maybe he would have a couple of NBA titles under his belt by now.

Don't mess with the Laser Show!

Feisty Pedroia led the charge for the Sox in that huge 7th inning. When you make Dusty mad you awaken the Laser show and there is no turning back from that.
