- Patrick Peterson LSU- Most athletic player in this years draft. He can play basically any position on the field if he wanted to. He might have to eventually move to safety because he is big for CB at almost 220pds but can still shut people down. Peterson could even see action of the offensive ball sometimes thats how gifted he is.
- Jimmy Smith Colorado-Not a great play-maker but shuts people down. He is one of the best coverage CB's in the draft and will do the same in the NFL as well. Great size at almost 6'3 210pds.
- Prince Amukamara Nebraska- Fantastic coverage corner. Lacks good hands for interceptions but compensates for his great skills in coverage and pure speed.
- Aaron Williams Texas-Compares very well to other recent Texas CB's to come in Cedric Griffin and Aaron Ross. Williams has the potential to better than both of them with his size and aggressive nature on the line.
- Ras-I Dowling Virginia- Great experience starting all four years at school. No tricks fools this guys. Can play against any size WR. He has the physical feature and great speed to keep up with anyone.
Safetys
- Rahim Moore UCLA- Good instincts for position. Reads QB's eyes well. He is a Ed Reed type of FS who has great hands and can make plays after the INT.
- Ahmad Black Florida-Good agility and straight-line speed for the position. Was recruited as a cornerback and only asked to move to safety at Florida to take advantage of his instincts, reliable open-field tackling and ball skills.
- Quinton Carter Oklahoma-Athletic safety who can step up to play outside or in the slot, if needed.Exceptional leader on the field and in the locker room.Excellent closing speed to attack receivers and running backs in space. Plants and drives forward with a nice burst to the ball.
- Jeron Johnson Boise St-Throws his body into traffic against the run and displays ferocious yearning for contact. Plays with an aggressive, physical mentality and shows no fear when taking on bigger blockers. Is undersized which, coupled with his style of play, makes him an injury risk at the next level. Does not have great range in deep coverage.
- DeAndre McDaniel Clemson-Good instincts, speed and a late burst as the ball is in flight make this one of his stronger areas. Locates the ball quickly. His experience as a linebacker/safety hybrid shows in his comfort near the line of scrimmage.
Who is the ideal Patriot given draft projections?
- Ras-I Dowling Virginia- If the Pats draft a CB we better draft one with height for once and Ras-I has that. He is pretty good in coverage which the Patriots were lacking outside of McCourty.
- Davon House New Mexico St-His best asset, as he uses his size, speed and length to adeptly handle outside responsibilities in man coverage.
Sleepers who could make you second guess yourself why didn't I draft them instead.
- Brandon Burton Utah- Flies to the ball once recognizing where the it's going, exciting defensive coordinators playing a lot of zone.Needs coaching on how to read receivers off the line and anticipate routes.
- Buster Skrine Chattanooga- Has the elite speed and aggressive nature that NFL teams look for in the two or three small-school cornerbacks drafted each year. His inclusion in the Scouting Combine in February showed scouts' interest is more than a passing fancy.
Tune is soon for my 1st rd mock draft
