A-Gone could play some outfield this weekend to get Papi's bat in the lineup

Terry Francona acknowledged that the organization has discussed the possibility of Adrian Gonzalez playing rightfield on the nine-game interleague road trip which starts Friday in Pittsburgh. And Gonzalez said he would be up for it if the Red Sox needed him to do it in an effort to get David Ortiz some playing time. Ortiz has been taking ground balls at first base the last couple of days. Boston.com

Tito cannot be serious playing your best player in the outfield just to let Papi play 1st. This could be a disaster he could get hurt or cost us a game because of defense. Just remember Youk playing the outfield the last couple of years during inter-league he was god awful and gave up an inside the park homerun once when he played out there. I know you want the best offense possible but you're facing the Pirates which is not a good team to begin with so I think you can get by with just platooning your two power bats every other day.
