2011 Fantasy Football Preview:TE's

There seems to be a youth movement in the NFL when it comes to the tight end position.  Plenty of youngsters are putting themselves in the starting fantasy option conversation.  JerMichael Finley will be a star in this league, and Rob Gronkowski had a fantastic rookie campaign. Here's a look at the tight end rankings for 2011.

  1. Dallas Clark (Indianapolis) - Peyton Manning will have his trusted tight end back in 2011.  Expect another Pro Bowl campaign from Clark as long as he's healthy.
  2. Jason Witten (Dallas) - Witten caught over 90 passes and scored 9 times in 2010.  He should approach those numbers again in 2011.  He's a vital cog in the Dallas offense.
  3. Antonio Gates (San Diego) - Reports aren't good about his bothersome foot.  If this continues to linger, he may lose his crown as the #1 fantasy tight end.
  4. JerMichael Finley (Green Bay) - He'll be just 24 years old and has one of the brightest futures in the NFL.  If he gives us a healthy 16 games, he could finish as the top tight end.
  5. Vernon Davis (San Francisco) - Alex Smith is Vernon Davis' best friend.  The 49ers re-signed Smith to a 1-year deal, so this duo will click for at least one more season.
  6. Owen Daniels (Houston) - When finally healthy, Daniels recorded 22 catches, 271 yards and 2 TDs in the final 4 games of the 2010 season.  Should approach 80 catches in 2011.
  7. Rob Gronkowski (New England) - Thanks to his 10 TD receptions, Gronk finished as the 5th highest scoring TE in 2010.Whoever drafts Gronk in your league will definitely get a steal look for almost 800-1000 yards rec and close to 10 TD's again.
  8. Marcedes Lewis (Jacksonville) - With Mike Sims-Walker out of the picture, Lewis will be the #2 target in the Jacksonville passing game.  He's a major red zone threat.
  9. Jimmy Graham (New Orleans) - With Jeremy Shockey no longer a Saint, Graham is the new buzz in the fantasy football world.  He's a big time breakout candidate in 2011.
  10. Kellen Winslow (Tampa Bay) - Not one of favorites here, but there is no denying this Tampa offense is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
